Thunder Ridge Racing 04-23-14



They're off and racing at Thunder Ridge. Five races were contested on opening night at Thunder Ridge Raceway to start the 2014 racing season in Kentucky.



In the first race of the evening, Checkout Terror, a 3 year old filly by Western Terror was a wire to wire winner by 6 1/2 lengths in 2:00.4. This was her second lifetime win for E Edward Ward and trainer/driver James Stiltner II.

The second race was won by  6 1/2 lenghts by Leaf Nation in 1:57.2. The 5 year old bay gelding by Armbro Deuce is owned by Barbara Troy and was trained and driven by Jim Brinson.

Iknoweverything broke his maiden in the third Race. The 3 year old colt by If I Can Dream is owned by E Edward Ward and trained and driven by James Stiltner II. He earned a new lifetime mark with his first win in 2:01.4

Kesons Avaia was a game winner in race 4. The 8 year old mare by Modern Art had the lead by the half and held off the challenge of Royal Stargazer to win in 1:59.2. Owner Elma Ferguson of Flat Gap, KY got their first win as an owner. She is trained and driven by Gary Neafus.

The last race by the evening was won by Noha in a new lifetime mark of 2:00.1. Barbara Troy owns the 4 year old gelding by I Scoot Hanover and he is trained and driven by Jim Brinson.
