Memorial Race planned at Thunder Ridge
Thunder Ridge will be holding a race in honor of James "Bucky" Buchanan Jr. who passed away March 5, 2010.
"Bucky" was active in the sport for more than 20 years with many of them as a trainer/driver on the Kentucky circuit. As a driver he had 83 wins earning $160,178 and as a trainer 33 wins earning $61,562. His last starts were on September 6, 2009 at The Red Mile.
The James "Bucky" Buchanan Jr. Pace will be held on May 14, 2011 during the Open condition race with a ceremony to follow in the winner’s circle.
