Updated Information for KY Fairs

The Board Meeting was  held in Beaver Dam, Ky. at which time Jim Avritt took over as President, replacing the previous president, Bill Napier.

The purse structure will remain the same in 2011 as in 2010 with the nomination, sustaining, and entry fees also the same.

With the current financial situation it was discussed that there will probably be enough money to hold the fair races in 2012 at a reduced purse and eliminate the finals.  That decision will not be made until the end of 2011 and hopefully new money will become available.

A request was made to change the way horses warm up for the fairs and it was decided that in the name of safety all horses will warm up going the right way on the track.

Pending LRC approval a motion was made that at all fair tracks there could only be 2 trailers.  Example:  If a fair track can only go 5 wide there could only be 7 horses in each race.  6 wide, 8 horses.
McCracken County track was changed from 6 wide to 5 wide due to obstructed vision.

A new position was made for the Ky, Colt Association. It will be called Executive Secretary. (with no change in pay grade ---zero) The officers for 2011 are as follows:
President:   Jim Avritt
Vice President:  Randy Jerrell
Executive Sec/ Treasurer:  Janet Napier

The dates for 2011 are listed on the 2011 fair schedule page.
